Get-togethers
Each summer the Sons of Temperance Friendly Society has get-togethers for members, families and friends at various leisure parks or places of interest. Recent venues have included Amberley Working Museum, Lightwater Valley Theme Park in Yorkshire, and Wicksteed Park at Kettering.
The 2009 get-togethers were to Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum in East Sussex, and a repeat visit to Chester Zoo.
Children’s competitions
Each year the Sons of Temperance arranges postal competitions for children. The Arts & Crafts Competition is held in the spring and the Temperance Competition, on the effects and dangers of alcohol and other drugs, is held in the autumn. Children's activities
London lunch
An annual lunch and social afternoon is held in central London each autumn. The 2009 event also incorporated a Special General Meeting.
Weekend away
In May 2009 our weekend away was held at Woodland Grange, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire and included the Annual General Meeting of the Sons of Temperance. The 2010 AGM will also be at this venue.
Meetings
We hope to arrange meetings and other events each year in various locations. These are opportunities to meet with other non drinkers.
