Huddersfield Cadets visit Hipperholme
The annual outing of the Huddersfield Grand Division took place on Saturday, June 27th, the venue being Sunny Vale. A Special Train ran, commencing at Clayton West and picking up at all stations to Huddersfield from whence the journey was completed without stop to Hipperholme. Cadets from Netherton and Meltham joined the train at Lockwood, and those from Marsden, Golcar, Slaithwaite and Huddersfield linked up at Huddersfield.
About 250 Cadets and 70 Adult members and friends made the journey, and in fine weather the attractions at Sunny Vale were well patronised. An excellent tea was served in the Tea Rooms at the Pleasure Grounds and was much enjoyed by the children.
The return journey was made at 8.15p.m. from Hipperholme, and the youngsters returned home tired, spent up, but all agreed they had spent a very enjoyable day. Thanks are due to Bro N Hinchliff and his Committee for the splendid arrangements made.

Organization for teetotallers
Having previously been founded in the United States, the Order of the Sons of Temperance of Great Britain and Ireland was instituted in 1855. Thus for over a century and a half the Sons of Temperance, as a Friendly Society, has had an outstanding record of service in providing life insurance and savings schemes exclusively for teetotallers.
If you are a past or present member of the Sons of Temperance (or the Cadets of Temperance), or are a teetotaller, or share a concern over society's problems caused by alcohol we'd love to hear from you.
